Finding the hidden gems in the big city.

Finding the hidden gems in the big city.

Hello everyone! My name is Dante Janssens, and I am the founder of Perlagente. I take all the pictures featured on the site. Each week, I will share the story behind one of these pictures.

As many people know, money makes the world go round, and the more money you have, the more power and influence you wield.

In my opinion, London is a city that perfectly exemplifies this statement. Everywhere you go and everyone you talk to, the topics of conversation are money and politics.

For many young people, this serves as a great motivation to work hard and achieve their dreams. So when I had the chance to take on some jobs in London, I eagerly jumped at the opportunity.

Workdays in London are tough. I fly in from the Netherlands in the morning, work tirelessly all day to deliver the best results for clients, grab a quick dinner, and then catch the plane back home. I rarely get any sleep, which means a workday often stretches to around 26 hours of non-stop running.

Despite the grueling schedule, it's exhilarating to experience more of the world and discover hidden gems that make for stunning compositions.

One of my favorite shots, "THE CHURCH," was taken on one of London's busiest and wealthiest streets, located next to Buckingham Palace. What makes it stand out for me is the contrast that the location provides. Everywhere you look on this street, it exudes wealth and luxury. But in a tiny alleyway, a small church blossoms, providing a glimmer of hope to keep you going with your day.

To me, that street symbolizes the journey of life itself. While you work hard towards success, it's okay to veer off the main road and explore an alleyway or two.

Happiness can be found in every corner; you just need to take the time to seek it out.
